Facesym

FaceSym was a student research project with the objective to evaluate, if people are able to distinguish between a mirrored and non-mirrored face. In order to get as many datasets as possible, a small game was implemented. To create an incentive to play more than once, achievements and statistics were implemented on the profile page.
After evaluation more than 3500 datasets it was clear, that despite 55% of the people guessing the correct answer, humans can’t reliable distinguish between a mirrored and non-mirrored face.
The project was taken offline after the results were clear. The source code can be found here: Facesym Source Code
